YMCA of South Florida Promotes Tara Montenaro to Chief Operating Officer

We are pleased to announce that Tara Montenaro has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the YMCA of South Florida.

In her new position, Tara will oversee operations, including all YMCA Family Centers, marketing and communications, and membership.

Tara joined us nearly seven years ago as executive director of early childhood education and association aquatics. Over the past two years, she has streamlined our operations to focus on program quality standardization and growth in program enrollment numbers.

In the past year, Tara provided oversight for our membership family center operations and marketing initiatives. During this time, Tara has been relentless in pursuing and implementing strategies to increase revenue to ensure our Y continues to recover from the financial impact of COVID, and provide programs to meet the needs of our communities in South Florida.

Prior to joining us, she spent 20 years in operations with Kindercare and The Learning Experience, where she consistently grew revenue and exceeded benchmarks.

Tara has always had a passion for children, which eventually led her to the Y. She’s excited about her new role where she can further impact the lives of kids, families and adults in our community.

Tara’s leadership skills, her hands-on approach to working with the team and her ability to execute are an asset to the Y.

Congratulations Tara! We appreciate you and your dedication to the Y’s mission.
