Jenny was a one-of-a-kind child. She was smart, energetic, beautiful, and blessed with a loving family. Unfortunately, Jenny lost her life because she did not know how to swim. Swim For Jenny was created to help make sure all kids know how to swim, and how to be safe around the water. The program provides families with free swim lessons for kids.

Water safety and drowning prevention are a critical initiative of the YMCA of South Florida. Accidental drowning is the leading cause of death among infants and small children in Florida, and Broward and Miami-Dade counties lead the state.
As part of our commitment to teaching all kids to be safe around the water, the YMCA offers 5 Days of FREE SWIM LESSONS to children and adults in the community. During Swim for Jenny Week, they are taught how to be comfortable in the water and use basic swimming skills and techniques. Skills that could be the difference between life and death.
